Ready to Rock

It’s been an early start to the 2010/11 season for the Watsons racing team with runs up at Shark Bay and more recently Tom Price. The team are currently in testing mode and are running all their new engine packages to make sure the new powerplants supplied by Performance Unlimited are ready for action.

We want to make sure our reliability is good this season so we are just putting different packages together running them and making sure everything is sweet Said Team Owner Robert Watson Snr.

At the same time Robert Watson Jr is getting plenty of laps in and that’s exactly what he is after.

“I didn’t get a decent run last season due to work commitments and racing Sprintcars you need plenty of laps to get a good feel and be on your game so the more I do leading into the Motorplex season the better”. Watson Jr stated.

The team will have two 410 cars available for Watson Jr to run the full Motorplex season with some selected events at Bunbury Speedway. Further to that Jr and Snr  will run 360’s & Limited Sprintcars on the fast Fridays so it will be a busy season for the team.

“The main aim is to give Rib (Watson Jr) plenty of laps and having the opportunity to run on the fast Fridays just enables that to happen. It will also allow me to have a run and race against the limited boys and that I am looking forward too” Said Watson Snr.

Robert Watson Snr not one for doing things half measure is currently building a new transport truck that is going to rock the publics socks off. The truck itself is a showpiece featuring AC/DC album covers airbrushed over the cab. The airbrush artist who has done the airbrushing has spent the best part of three months doing the graphics.

“Its looking good, we have rebuilt it from the ground up, the wheels are being flown in from the states, the truck is full of chrome and it will be fitted with an enormous kick ass sound system to compliment the massive T.V. and DVD which will be belting out AC/DC songs in the pits” Said the enthusiastic Watson.
